This study aims to examine active learning strategies, their impacts on learning processes and outcomes, and the challenges of their implementation in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools). It employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were collected from relevant scholarly articles and analyzed through identification, categorization, and synthesis of findings based on the research focus. The findings indicate that active learning strategies can be implemented through group discussions, question-and-answer activities, jigsaw, card sort, Index Card Match, Everyone Is a Teacher Here, educational games, simulations, and project-based learning. These strategies have the potential to enhance student engagement and motivation, conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and collaborative skills. Nevertheless, their implementation faces several challenges, including teachers' readiness and competence, limited instructional time and facilities, classroom management, and diverse student characteristics. This review emphasizes that successful implementation of active learning requires careful planning, appropriate strategy selection based on students' needs, and the creation of a supportive learning environment. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening teachers' capacity to design meaningful and participatory learning experiences in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
