Kemampuan Menghafal Al-Qur’an Dan Keterampilan Berbicara Bahasa Arab: Studi Korelasional Siswa LTA Al-Fatah Muhajirun
IDThe background of this research The background of this research originates from findings in class XII LTA Al-Fatah Muhajirun, where some students had high levels of Qur’an memorization but low Arabic-speaking ability, and vice versa. This indicates that the relationship between Qur’an memorization ability and Arabic-speaking ability is not always linear. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship and how strong the relationship is between students’ Qur’an memorization ability and their Arabic-speaking ability. This research employs a quantitative correlational method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that (1) there is a relationship between Qur’an memorization ability and Arabic-speaking ability among class XII LTA Al-Fatah Muhajirun students in the 2024/2025 academic year. This relationship is positive, showing that the higher the students’ ability to memorize the Qur’an, the higher their ability to speak Arabic tends to be. (2) The strength of the relationship falls within the moderate category, based on a Pearson correlation coefficient value of 0.509, which lies within the interval of 0.40–0.599. However, since the calculated r-value (0.509) is lower than the r-table value (0.532) at a 5% significance level with 14 respondents, the relationship is considered statistically insignificant and cannot be generalized broadly. This lack of significance is likely influenced by the small sample size.
